This week has been the first week of full days for reception. The weather has been lovely and the children have loved getting exploring all the different aspects of our outdoor area. We have noticed that lot of the boys have enjoyed mark making with the chalks outside. They have drawn shapes, monsters, lines and even started drawing the letters we have been learning.
Drawing with big movements like this makes their arms and hands strong, and will help the children to write beautifully later.

Over the next weeks we will build on this interest with the boys.... one next step painting with water over shapes we've drawn perhaps!
